We stayed at Hotel Brittania. Pretty nice. It was only for one night though. The very best beer I've had ever, was at a restaurant right in the center of Manchester not far from the hotel called Hugo Mash. The beer was called Utenos Porteris, a Lithuanian porter. Exquisite. I'm sure you can get it in London. I suggest you fly up and fly down the same day, if you can't get a room. Or, you could always rent a car. Watch out! Good luck with finding a place to stay.
