it was a nice win today. 2 u.s. internations going head to head with brian mcbride and jonathon spector. it was a good battle all day long. it’s hard to say who came out on top with both getting the better of the other at various times. it was a farily exciting game with 2 good goals for boa morte and fulham. i didn’t take any pictures. you can never really get any good pictures during the game because it’s always too late by the time you get the camera out. i think i might try going to the manchester city v fulham match later this month. there’s still tickets and they announced at the game that the coach ride will be free. normally it’s p25. it would probably an interesting experience to get the feel of a club road trip. unfortunately, necessarily, the coaches leave fairly early in the morning.
here’s some other unrelated pictures. i had to go to the grocery and actually get some food since the whole easter thing puts a big question mark on what will be open. normally, i forget this at home and am screwed. however, it is drastically cheaper going to the grocery as opposed to eating out. much more so than in birmingham. i had a young’s admiral’s pie for dinner tonight (after my ~45 minutes of waundering around in the grocery. i really should go in with a plan of some sort.). my main critieria for choosing it was it’s claim of being “britain’s favourite ready meal”. don’t they know how to spell around here? it was ok. somewhat bland as expected. it took 45 minutes to cook in the over. we don’t have a microwave. not that i had one at my apartment either. luckily, i had gotten some kellogg’s frosties (frosted flakes) so i was able to have a snack while i waited.
i actually took this picture the other day when i went to see “alien autopsy”. it’s a good example of how blunt a lot of the advertising is here. my personal favorite is the warning labels on cigarette packs that just says “smoking kills” in big bold letters. i’ll have to get a picture of one of those at some point. it’s also weird that most people i’ve observed here seem to smoke marlboro lights. it seems kind of odd that they’re an american brand. whatever.
